How to Keep Your Photography Business Afloat During a Crisis

As a business owner and entrepreneur, I know a lot of my fellow photographers and small business owners are struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.

But don’t despair, there are still ways you can bring clients and funds in the door. I hope these five coronavirus business ideas provide you a path to move forward.

Stay strong and wishing you all the best!

  1. Offer Special Wedding & Family Packages

Encourage your 2021 clients to book now by offering special packages. This could look like an additional hour of wedding coverage or a complimentary engagement session when they book a wedding.

  2. Offer a Print or Album Sale

I put three years of my family and wedding photoshoots back online and offered past clients package deals. You could also offer free shipping or a percentage off.

  3. Change Your Payment Policy

This will allow you to receive a larger deposit or retainer before the photoshoot to help you make ends meet in the meantime.

  4. Offer Gift Certificates

This is a great option for mini-sessions, family shoots, and holiday specials. You can offer gift certificates or a pay-in-advance option.

  5. Offer Photo Album Gift Registry

This is a great option for your already booked clients. Many couples who already live together might not need the usual gift registry items. A beautiful album of their wedding photos is a timeless and elegant alternative. Many parents and grandparents love to buy these for their children and grandchildren.
